How We Started

Urban Plants started with a mistake.

Founder Janna P, a self proclaimed plant guru, killed a $1200 plant. A rare collector philodendron. The kind of plant people assume only experts can keep alive. It still died.

That moment changed everything. If an experienced plant expert can lose an expensive, high maintenance plant, then people who just want plants that survive real life should not feel bad when things go wrong.

So Urban Plants was built around a simple idea. Remove the complicated stuff. Choose plants that are genuinely hard to kill. Plants that fit into real homes, real schedules, and real lives.

No rare plants, no plant guilt, and absolutely no ferns.

This is not about becoming good at plants. It is about enjoying them.

We believe plants should survive real life. Not everyone has time, experience, or perfect light, and that should not stop anyone from growing or gifting houseplants.

We curate houseplants that are genuinely hard to kill and pair them with simple, modern pots that are ready to gift. We focus on easy care indoor plants and avoid fragile, high maintenance varieties.
