How We Started
Over the years, founder Janna P, horticulturist and plant expert, has killed a wide range of plants, including some expensive collector houseplants.
That experience led to a simple realization: if even someone with extensive plant knowledge can lose so many plants, then people who just want something that survives real life shouldn’t feel bad when things go wrong.
Urban Plants was built around removing the complicated parts. Focusing on plants that are genuinely hard to kill, and that fit into real homes, real schedules, and real lives.
No rare plants, no plant guilt, and absolutely no ferns.
This is not about becoming good at plants. It is about enjoying them.
We believe plants should survive real life. Not everyone has time, experience, or perfect light, and that should not stop anyone from growing or gifting houseplants.
We curate houseplants that are genuinely hard to kill and pair them with simple, modern pots that are ready to gift. We focus on easy care indoor plants and avoid fragile, high maintenance varieties.
